Head Coach Bav Thakrar
Coach Bav began his career in his native country of England where he received his BA and MA degrees in Education from the
He taught Physical Education at the high school level for one year before moving to the U.S. to take on a senior management position for one of the country's largest soccer camp companies. In his role as Regional Director, Coach Bav managed 70 professional coaches who coached about 3,000 children per year. Coach Bav is experienced in running large scale soccer camps, while continuing to understand the needs of each individual player, parents and coaches. In addition to soccer, Coach Bav had the opportunity to coach a wide variety of sports in locations across the world; from tennis at New York State University, to soccer at the Arsenal Academy in Hong Kong, and athletics in India. His number one passion, however, continues to be soccer and coaching in a positive and self-esteem building environment.
Coach Bav also prides himself on continuous education. He updates his qualifications every year, and enjoys implementing best practices learned from and shared with fellow coaches. Coach Bav is also active with the Positive Coaching Alliance, www.positivecoach.org, based out of Stanford University. As a guest lecturer, he prides himself on deliverying excellent tips and tools for 5 to 200 fellow coaches. Bav enjoys sharing and learning new ideas to make the sporting experience for kids more enjoyable.
Coach Bav is a State level instructor and delivers "F" and "E" licenses for coaches throughout Northern California. He loves to help new coaches reach their full potential through education, leadership and practical instruction.
Bav lives in Los Gatos, California where he enjoys reading, hiking and other outdoor activities.
